The birds ate it up both the stuff I had shaken loose from heads as well as pulling seeds from the heads I left intact. I will be doing it again this year because I feel I saved quite a pretty penny by growing my own, as it were. Its also so fun to watch the birds eating right of the plant!BLD in MThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08497511995276601468noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3215310042560560686.post-11331250090852762542012-09-03T06:28:55.227-04:002012-09-03T06:28:55.227-04:00Jody, I thought that pic was cute too!Jody, I thought that pic was cute too!Robinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12220238404223196571noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3215310042560560686.post-29445621442223134082012-09-03T06:27:42.945-04:002012-09-03T06:27:42.945-04:00Laura, they really are entertaining. During the winter, their colors change and become much less vibrant. They seem to like to take the seed to the bird bath and soak it before eating it.<br />Yes, bird seed is extremely pricey.
