This is a journal of my small organic urban kitchen garden & large community garden plots. This blog includes home preserving, recipes & a little bit of our life. My husband calls the gardens Eden. He should know he is the cook here! We are located in eastern Pennsylvania in zone 6B.
I had to laugh when I saw this. We are in the middle of a snow storm and are scheduled to have another on Saturday and then next Tuesday. I think winter is here to stay.
I always thought the rule was if Phil saw his shadow we would have 6 more weeks of winter. If Phil didn't see his shadow then we would only have a month and a half of winter left. :)
johanna & Sue, Come on....you need to believe in Phil!! It's the only Hope we have!!
David, According to legend, if Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow, there will be six more weeks of winter weather. If he does not see his shadow, there will be an early spring.
Robin, I'm all for early Spring, but I am waiting to believe when I see it. I'm not saying that it couldn't happen but I'm not seeing it outside today. We could all hope couldn't we.
I feel so bad for you all. How about I send you all some of our California sun. It will hit 70 by the end of the week and that's here in the Bay Area. Stay safe and warm!

ReplyDeleteDaphne, We are having an ice storm at the moment. Like you, we are supposed to get more snow...I'm just trying to give everyone a little HOPE!!

I'd like to believe, but we are not likely to have an early spring. A fresh coating of snow is falling right now. Not sure spring will ever come.
