In-Laws Balcony Garden Update #4

My in-laws are very happy with their balcony garden. They are harvesting enough tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers for eating. My father in-law had purchased a couple of eggplants and planted them in the swc. He did not save the tag. So, we don't know the variety. I have never seen this variety of eggplant before. It is big and beautiful!

I forgot to bring my camera to their house the two times we were there this week. He e-mailed this picture to me today.

The Eggplant with no name...weighing in at 20 oz!

  5. Check this out: http://rareseeds.com/cart/products/Rotonda_Bianca_Sfumata_Eggplant-1188-114.html, the shape looks right, there is another called Black Beauty there that looks similar too! Or if you have a Baker Creek catalog, it's on page 20! Whatever it is, it is striking!

  6. What a great looking eggplant!. It sort of looks like 3 Black Beautys morphed into one. Do they all look like that?

  7. This is my first time to see an eggplant shaped like a squash and its big. I had seen round eggplants but not that big and shape. I wonder how I can make that one for an omelet. Congratulations!
