My in-laws are very happy with their balcony garden. They are harvesting enough tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers for eating. My father in-law had purchased a couple of eggplants and planted them in the swc. He did not save the tag. So, we don't know the variety. I have never seen this variety of eggplant before. It is big and beautiful!
I forgot to bring my camera to their house the two times we were there this week. He e-mailed this picture to me today.
The Eggplant with no name...weighing in at 20 oz!
That eggplant is a beauty! So big!
ReplyDeleteStunning! That looks like seed catalog art!
ReplyDeleteThat's a whopper!
ReplyDeleteI have never seen eggplant in a shape of a squash! Lovely! Too bad you don't have a tag.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone...I am hoping that someone will know what variety this eggplant is. It's is so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteCheck this out: http://rareseeds.com/cart/products/Rotonda_Bianca_Sfumata_Eggplant-1188-114.html, the shape looks right, there is another called Black Beauty there that looks similar too! Or if you have a Baker Creek catalog, it's on page 20! Whatever it is, it is striking!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great looking eggplant!. It sort of looks like 3 Black Beautys morphed into one. Do they all look like that?
ReplyDeleteThis is my first time to see an eggplant shaped like a squash and its big. I had seen round eggplants but not that big and shape. I wonder how I can make that one for an omelet. Congratulations!
