This is what is left of my Fall Broccoli & Cauliflower!
I do have about a dozen starts that Jose from the community garden gave me. That is not nearly enough though. I'm going to start some more starts today. This time I am going to cover them and keep them covered!! I'm not sure if it's too late. But, I'm going to give it a try. I can always purchase some too. The worst thing that can happen is I will have too many.
What a shame - I guess the worms are what we call caterpillars - are they from the large and small white butterflies? Our young plants are netted but it doesn't stop the slugs and snails getting in!

DeleteIt happens. I don't like it either. It's those white and yellow moths that love the veggies.

DeleteI always seem to be fighting some pest. Something is out there eating the tomatoes right now I'm sure, as I keep finding holes in them. Better luck with your next starts :)

DeleteOh that is horrible. I always stick my brassica starts under a row cover if I can find room. If not I get a small piece to wrap them in. I've got to start hardening mine off tomorrow and then start some more.

DeleteWow! They were really hungry. I've been slow in starting my fall transplants this year. I'll be sure to keep them under cover.

Once those worms get started they can eat everything fast.

DeleteRobin, Sorry to hear about your start dilemma. Hopefully the next batch will turn out great. The great thing about gardening is that do overs are allowed. The extreme weather patterns have certainly given gardeners/farmers challenges like never before. I'm hoping that this weather pattern breaks soon.

DeleteSorry that happened. My fall crops of broccoli and cabbages etc were not my best seedling starts but they seem to be okay and I got them in the ground this weekend. If they make it through this first week and get growing, I will be out of the woods. Otherwise, I will have to hurry and just do a direct seeding.
