Very nice harvest. Now the big question "What will you do with it all?"
ReplyDeleteThanks Becky, The peppers are pretty much taken care of. I really don't know what I'm going to do with all the eggplant though.
DeleteAfter a week away, at last we HAVE managed to harvest lots of tomatoes - although they are all from our plot greenhouse. The garden greenhouse is way behind for some reason. I wonder if the smaller plot greenhouse has a warmer atmosphere?
ReplyDeleteSue, Who knows! I have to say that this has been the strangest gardening year ever!
DeleteLove those eggplants.
ReplyDeleteHow is the new job going?
Marcia, the job going great! I really wish the garden harvests would have been a little more normal though. Then I wouldn't be doing everything at once! At least it feels that way!
DeleteThe peppers look beautiful and very colorful! Nice eggplants and spaghetti squash too!
ReplyDeleteThanks NG!!
DeleteLove all the different colored peppers, especially the Purple Beauty !
ReplyDeleteAndrea, those purple peppers are quite nice. They have nice thin skins and a good flavor.....and they are also very pretty!
DeleteLove the different colored peppers! The eggplant and spaghetti squash look lovely as well. Thank goodness the tomatoes are slowing down:)
ReplyDeleteRachel, thank goodness is right! I've had about enough of canning tomatoes and puree!
DeleteVery beautiful eggplants and peppers, and those spaghetti squash are pretty big! Nice harvest for the week.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jenny, the largest Spaghetti Squash weighed 63 ounces!
DeleteI love the dark peppers, I'll have to add them to my list for next season. They would be beautiful on a vegetable tray.
ReplyDeleteHey there lady! Yes, the purple peppers are quite pretty and add nice color!
DeletePretty harvests. I used to love spaghetti squash, but could never grow it because the borers would always kill it. So now I'm just growing what grows. But it works.
ReplyDeleteDaphne, I have had bad years with the SVB's too. Now I just plant them and hope for the best!
Deletelovely harvest!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mrs.P! Love your sewing room!! :)
DeleteLovely peppers! I've never grown that Purple Beauty. It almost looks black in the photo. I'll have to check it out. Looks like sweet and hot yummys in there. I have saved up enough of the hot ones to make a batch of hot sauce. I am wondering if it will turn out orange or not.
ReplyDeleteThanks Dave, Those purple peppers are almost black. The peppers are quite late this year. So, who knows how they would be in a normal year, if that exists any more! Yes, there are some Hot & Sweet Yummy's there. They are a very prolific and nice pepper!
DeleteLike the peppers. It is so strange you tomatoes are about done and mine are just starting to get color. Most are still green. Sure a different world where I live.
ReplyDeleteYes wilderness, your weather is quite different from ours! I do remember that long cold snowy winter up there many moons ago!
DeleteBut you were near the lake which was much more mild than it is hear and about a month longer growing season.
DeleteI was 6 years old wilderness. All I remember is all the snow and ice houses on the lake!
DeleteAre the dark purple peppers sweet like the green ones? I don't think I have ever seen them before. You got a great harvest even without tomatoes for this time of year. Nancy
ReplyDeleteYes Nancy, the dark peppers are sweet and pretty unusual!
DeleteWhat a lovely harvest! I'm still waiting for my sweet peppers to get red. It's like watching water to boil... Your spaghetti squashes look nice and ripe. I harvested 2, but they were so green still, as the plants died before the fruits got a chance to get ripen.
ReplyDeleteThose squash will ripen in the house. Yes, the peppers are taking forever this year!
Deletevery nice peppers and stuff! Love growing peppers. Even though I don't eat them well, the kids love them!
ReplyDeleteThanks Shawn Ann! My peppers are finally kicking in just when the weather is cooling down!
DeleteWill the pruple beauty peppers remain purple after cooking?
ReplyDeleteYes, they do stay purple after cooking. At least the ones I put in the pepper jelly did!
DeleteAre you happy the tomatoes are finally slowing down? I wish mine would get in gear, LOL! Same with the peppers, yours are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteGranny, I never thought I would say that I am happy that the tomatoes are coming to an end!
DeleteWhat a nice mix of peppers and that spaghetti squash looks good too. Our peppers did an earlier production and then stopped flowering setting fruit in July (it was cool) and finally got going again in August. I have lots of smallish green peppers on various plants and am just hoping they get on with it before the night temps get too much cooler.
ReplyDeleteLaura, my early peppers got BER from the hot weather. Now they are going again and it's really cooling down. I only had a few peppers turn color this year. Hopefully your peppers will get on with it!
DeleteVery pretty! The peppers and eggplants are just so shiny and colorful. It all looks yummy.
ReplyDeleteThanks Michelle, Our stores are getting full and I'm getting tired!
